Lass and the Empty Chair at City Hall

About the story

Lass Ladybug arrives at City Hall with a polished proposal for a new play corner in Bugville Park. She has included ideas from many friends and believes the plan works for everyone—until Cat points to an empty chair meant for the youngest children, whose meeting time and written invitation made participation difficult.

Lass visits Apple Crate School with picture cards, stickers, drawings, and blocks so the children can share ideas in ways that work for them. Her revised plan becomes more inclusive, and Lass learns that leadership means more than opening a meeting: it means noticing who is absent and creating a genuine way for them to shape the result.
